The LINKS-Ontario Project
The GHEM Health Equity Committee has been working tirelessly over the last two months, responding to the immediate and complex situation that the COVID-19 pandemic presents for Toronto’s disadvantaged and vulnerable populations.
UHN has partnered with Ontario 211 Services, a free-of-charge information and referral hub that assists people in quickly navigating the complex network of governmental and non-governmental social services to launch the LINKS-Ontario: project. Dr. Jennifer Hulme is currently leading an awareness-raising intervention in partnership with 211 (the ‘LINKS-Ontario’ project), the goal of which is to identify the unmet non-medical needs of patients, as well as the barriers to self-isolation, for those are suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19.
