Education and Operations Research

The importance of innovating and evaluating within the TAAAC-EM program has been paramount. Discussions around new ideas and areas for improvement are built into the collaboration. This has created the opportunity for staff and residents with a research or program idea to explore them within the collaboration. This has included projects around curriculum development, telesimulation, a resident-faculty mentorship program, a trauma registry and program evaluation, as well as various needs assessments and faculty surveys.

While these initiatives often don’t represent an entire program of work, they are critical to the growth of TAAAC-EM and the specialty of emergency medicine within Ethiopia.
