Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Throughout the existence of TAAAC-EM, the importance of meeting local needs has been emphasized. As the specialty continues to grow across the country, the importance of maintaining and improving practitioner competency beyond undergraduate and postgraduate education is essential. Continuing professional development (CPD) provides an opportunity to improve access to sub-speciality training in emergency medicine both during residency and once certified. Working with the Ethiopian Society of Emergency Professionals (ESEP) and Addis Ababa University (AAU), TAAAC-EM is in the process of conducting a local needs assessment and has continued to expand CPD offerings.
