All PGME Residents, Fellows, Faculty and 4th Year Medical Students are invited to attend the 5th Annual PGME GLOBAL HEALTH DAY on “Activism”.

12:30 pm – Lunch
1:00 pm – Opening Address by Mrs. Setsuko Thurlow, Hiroshima survivor. Anti-nuclear weapons activist. Accepted the Nobel Peace Prize with ICAN in December 2017.
1:30 – 3:00 pm – Roundtables #1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
3:15 – 4:45 pm – Roundtables #6, 7, 8, 9 and 10
5:00 pm – Refreshments and networking
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
This Global Health (GH) Day is planned by a resident committee from across programs and specialties and will include passionate presenters who have established themselves as effective activists. The day will showcase how activism contributes to enhanced, equitable and sustainable health for populations across the world. The specific educational objectives for participants are:
- To introduce themes and issues related to GH activism
- To develop a deeper understanding of motivations and processes for effective GH activism
- To encourage engagement in GH advocacy and activism
- To create a forum for peer to peer discussion
- To share global health concerns, education, and experience
