GHEM is excited to announce our 2018 Open Meeting Event hosted by the GHEM Health Equity Committee, with special guest speaker Dr. Kerry Bowman.

Description: 

Dr. Kerry Bowman is the Clinical Ethicist at Mount Sinai Hospital and teaches global health at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bowman’s work examines intersections of human health, conflict, environmental degradation, protection of indigenous rights, and emerging ethical issues in Canada. He has extensive experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Brazilian Amazon. He is also involved in projects in North Korea and has been a consultant to The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).

In addition, Dr. Bowman holds an academic appointment with The University of Toronto in Family and Community Medicine, and also serves with The University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics and The University of Toronto Centre for Environment. Dr. Bowman will be speaking about the relationship between human health and social, political, and environmental disruption.
